The following is a portion of Antiques & Beyond vendor Heather Karlie Vieira’s latest newsletter.
Seven days. 168 hours. 10,080 minutes. 604,800 seconds. Breaking the week down into smaller and smaller bits. Funny how that helps to see just how much time I really do have. Folks will tell you that time is a construct. Well I’m about to build something amazing. So how am I making the time count? By breaking each task down into smaller and smaller bits. By understanding that it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and all I need to do is to lace up my shoes and get after it. Step by step. I just have to remember to not hit the snooze button.
High Point 101
For those of you new to High Point, here’s a quick intro… it’s the home of a twice yearly design destination that calls folks from across the country and from around the world. It’s home to showrooms celebrating all that is vintage, antique, modern and contemporary. It’s the home of the favorite boutique showroom, Chelsea on Green. And that’s where you can find yours truly. Set up and selling a thoughtfully curated mix of eclectic and unique finds. A selection of 1980’s Brazilian paintings. A choice offering of artist made studio and craft furniture. A chic assortment of textural lighting. And a few surprises that even I don’t know yet. But we can find out together at the opening night party next Tuesday April 22nd from 5 to 9pm. You’ll want to arrive early and stay the whole evening. Cocktails and an artisanal grazing table will provide sustenance. The forty hand picked dealers will provide a fantastic opportunity to find that object you’ve been looking for or that special something you never knew you needed (I’ll have both). The best part will be that I’ll have fresh merchandise every day of the show. I always pack way more than can fit in my booth, so as pieces sell then new pieces will hit the floor. Shop early, shop late, shop often.
And now back to those seven days. Tomorrow you can find me on the road. Driving, shopping, delivering and the like. Still looking for those surprises to bring to High Point. Because while I need to plan the logistics, I always leave room for the magic. Those special moments and special pieces that help to remind us all just why we do what we do. Thursday you can find me at the framer (P.S. that would be me) getting a few more last minute works showroom ready. Friday, it’s back to searching and shopping while tying up a myriad of loose ends. Oh, and I still have to write a brochure. But I have the weekend for that. Time really is on my side. ❤️ hkv
Hot Off The Presses
Well, maybe not yet… but late April. I was interviewed for an article in the Maine Antique Digest. Gotta say that it was really fun to share a bit of my story. I’ll keep you posted when the issue goes live.
“The incident came to mind after seeing a woman walking the aisles of The Nashville Show with a recently purchased horse head in her arms.” – Don Johnson for the Maine Antique Digest reporting on the The Nashville Show 2025. Oh, and that horse head? You already know that I was the one who sold her that horse head…
UPCOMING: Marburger Atlanta, July 15th – 19th 2025
And there’s still more! The inaugural 2024 Marburger Atlanta Show was a tremendous success and I’m honored to share that I’ll be back for the sophomore showing. Bigger and even better. The event coincides with Americas Mart and is gearing up to be an exceptional showing of fine antiques, amazing mid-century and eclectic finds (supplied by yours truly, of course). Shop HKFA at this show July 15th – 19th, 2025 in the Ballroom, space BR-16.
